Evalam at Roland Garros

The glazed balustrade in the stands and on the access stairway were both laminated using Evalam, the EVA product developed with a view to helping laminating experts, who often look for value-added solutions.

Roland Garros is the most prestigious clay court tennis championship tournament in the world, held in Paris, France. The Stade Roland Garros complex has served as the main tournament venue since 1928, with its court seeing the best tennis players in history.
With a capacity of more than 15,000 spectators, the central Court Philippe-Chatrier –where the championship final is held– has seen its share of epic matches that will be remembered by all lovers of good tennis.

The latest renovation of this iconic tennis venue began in 2017 and ended in 2020. It included the installation of glass balustrades within the stands and access stairs. Evalam Visual was chosen for the lamination of EVA, which was developed for laminating experts looking for a high value-added solution.

Its excellent, incomparable and one-of-kind transparency, high adhesive strength, superb acoustic insulating properties and unrivalled crosslinking index are the perfect combination of features that make this interlayer the ideal lamination solution wherever optical properties, durability and, ultimately, quality, are essential requirements.

The compositions were installed on Ninfa Stadio model profiles from the Italian manufacturer Faraone. The chosen combination of glass + railing performs superbly in terms of safety and meets the characteristics required for this cathedral of international sport.
